“When you know your coach believes in you, and when you know your coach has confidence in you, it’s definitely an important thing.”

“From the first practice, [coach Shannon Silva ] made it very, very clear she is expecting nothing less than she expected last year, this team is still just as good,” said Skye Dupre , a junior captain.

The message was clear from Day 1 of the preseason for the Joseph Case softball team: this is not a rebuild.

NFL Draft: How top-3 QB picks have fared in their rookie seasons

The New England Patriots are, in a word, unstable at the quarterback position.

Mac Jones’ predictable departure and Bailey Zappe’s unreliable play left the Patriots without a long-term answer at QB. Signing free agent Jacoby Brissett, known for his dependable backup status, didn’t settle the matter.

Though Jerod Mayo announced Monday that the Patriots are open to trading their third overall pick — weighing the benefits of securing additional draft picks further down the line in an attempt to s

These tributes show how beloved Bill Belichick is in New England

The news of Bill Belichick's departure from the New England Patriots came as a surprise to few after the six-time Super Bowl champions finished the season 4-13 — their worst finish during Belichick's tenure.

Montalvo and her Blue Devil teammates walked off the Gillette Stadium turf as champions Friday night after winning the inaugural Patriots girls’ high school flag football championship.

“It’s not easy being the only senior, but she’s done a great job,”said Woburn coach Courtney Sigsbury . “I don’t know if there are a lot of other kids in her situation that would be able to do what she’s done with a super young team.”

Now a senior, the three-year ace opened her final high school season in the exact opposite position. The only senior on a very young squad, Barmash is joined by two juniors and five sophomores in the starting lineup.

As the keynote speaker at this year’s MIAA Girls and Women in Sports Day event at Faneuil Hall, McDonnell addressed a full room of female high school athletes, coaches, and athletics personnel about the importance of uplifting women in sports Friday
